ABOUT

MYLES HARRISON

I wasn’t always the “fitness guy.”

Growing up, I struggled with my weight and was often the target of bullying. Sports didn’t come naturally to me, and I always felt like I was playing catch-up with everyone else. The only thing I really enjoyed back then was football, but even then, I never felt like the most athletic player on the pitch.

Everything started to change when I was 17. My grandad, who had been a bodybuilder back in his day, took me under his wing. He put me through some brutal early training sessions, but those lessons stuck with me. For the first time, I began to enjoy the process of training, getting stronger, fitter, and realising what my body could do.

I went to university to study art, but after a serious football injury left me with a broken leg, my focus completely shifted. The rehab process was tough, but I found it fascinating. I threw myself into learning about strength, conditioning, and recovery. What started as a setback turned into my purpose.

Fast forward to today: I’ve been a personal trainer  and a strength & conditioning coach since 2018. I’ve worked with everyday people, athletes, and football clubs, and I’ve loved every second of it.

But here’s the important bit: I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all training. My coaching is about helping people believe in themselves, build confidence in the gym, and make real, lasting progress. Whether you’re stepping into the gym for the first time or looking to push your performance as an athlete, I’ve been where you are. I know how it feels to doubt yourself, and I know what it takes to move past that.

MH Performance is built on that philosophy: no gimmicks, no shortcuts, just the right training, guidance, and support to help you get where you want to be.

I’m a personal trainer as well as a strength and conditioning coach based at Gymetc in Congleton.

As a young kid, I struggled with my weight and was always considered the ‘chubby’ kid. I enjoyed my football but was never naturally gifted, it was all hard work for me and my weight didn’t help either.

However, once I began my fitness journey I realised I could improve my performance and become more than I ever thought I could be. It unlocked a part of me I didn’t know I had!

It drove me to take the leap into a fitness career and become a personal trainer. I have a Level 4 qualification in strength and conditioning and dedicate my free time to researching and building my knowledge to help my clients more.

The thing is, I love fitness, whether it’s in the gym or the football pitch. I live that lifestyle and I know by adding fitness into your life you can also become “Myles better”!
